Where To Register To Vote and Where To Vote in Maine

When you register to vote,your voter registrations are linked to your residential address.When registered voters move, they are supposed to update their registration records with election officials before voting.

You can vote ONLY at your designated polling place. Make sure your are at the correct polling site and Election District for your address.

Under federal law, if you move within 30 days of a presidential election, you are allowed to vote for President and Vice President in your former state of residence, either in person or by absentee ballot.

Poll Hours: 6:00 AM-8:00 PM

For municipalities with a population of 500 or more – the polls can open between 6:00 am and 10:00 a.m.
For municipalities with a population of less than 500 – the polls can open between 6:00 am and 10:00 am. Local officials can give you the exact opening time for your municipality. All voting places close at 8:00 pm on Election Day.
